One of my favourite bands is Portland, Oregon's The Upsidedown. With Sarah Jane, formerly of The Out Crowd (Matt Hollywood's previous band) as well as ex-Bella Low member Jsun Atom, and musicians Brett Kron, Matt Moore, Tristan Evans and Bob Graham Mild, they quickly gained a reputation for themselves across the American Northwest, achieving critical acclaim. Their album, Human Destination, has been a staple on my stereo this year...From the Strokes-esque intro to the title track to the 60s-influenced stomping beats of "Silver Wind" to the flowing grooves of "Light", this album is recommended for anybody who's into a bit of psychedelic pop.

On 12 December, The Upsidedown are playing a Christmas show at Portland's Wonderland Ballroom with their mates, The Dandy Warhols.
You can buy their album from Beat The World Records...and even get a new Dell computer to match, thanks to The Upsidedown's cover artist Robert Hardgrave featured as an designer for Dell's new studio ready laptops!
