Video: Richard Ashcroft's "Are You Ready"

Monday, 25 January 2010
Richard Ashcroft is back with a new band called the United Nations of Sound. The first video from their upcoming album is "Are You Ready", which holds onto a UN theme as it features different languages scrolling across the screen as Richard looks like he's preparing for a fight. Or a revolution.

Musically, it has a classic rock sound, which I love. However, I don't think it is as strong as Richard's finest solo work, 2000's "A Song For The Lovers", or even The Verve's arguably last hit single, 2008's "Love is Noise". Honestly, I think this song is a grower, and if the rest of the upcoming album, Redemption is as strong (or stronger) than "Are You Ready", the album will definitely be one to look out for in March 2010.

Check it out for yourself:
